Capitol Hill veteran
Jeffrey Duncan is a Capitol Hill veteran with more than three decades of experience on a wide array of issues in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. He spent much of his career working as an adviser to first Representative and then Senator Edward J. Markey (D-MA). This included serving as Senator Markey’s Chief of Staff, as the Staff Director of the House Natural Resources Committee’s Democratic Staff, and as a senior staffer on the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming — where he helped to support passage of the only comprehensive economy-wide global warming legislation to pass either the House or the Senate, the Waxman-Markey bill. Jeff also served then Rep. Markey as a senior professional staffer on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. After his departure from Capitol Hill in 2014, Jeff created Duncan Government Strategies, a strategic consulting firm. He moved to Philadelphia with his wife Kristen in 2015, and he retired from consulting in 2018 and now pursues a number of volunteer activities in Philadelphia.
